About — La Valise Mexico City

An eight-suite boutique hotel in a 1920s French-style townhouse in Roma Norte, Mexico City — an intimate urban refuge run more like a curated pied-à-terre than a conventional hotel.

One of only eight suites, set in a restored 1920s French-style townhouse rather than a purpose-built hotel, with a ground-floor café instead of a full restaurant. Adults-and-teens-only (12+), part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World since 2022, and holder of a 2024 MICHELIN Key — one of three Michelin Key hotels in Mexico City under the same owner, Namron Hospitality.

Design-minded, well-traveled couples and solo travelers seeking a quiet, adult-oriented stay in a residential, creative neighborhood rather than a large hotel — guests drawn to Roma Norte's galleries, vintage shops, and restaurant scene over a hotel with extensive on-site amenities.

Intimate and a little mysterious — a living cabinet of curiosities rather than a showroom. Antiques, artisanal objects, and handpicked artwork sit against the bones of a 1920s townhouse: high ceilings, ornate mouldings, original floor tiles. Favor warmth and layered detail over minimalism; let rooms feel gathered and personal rather than styled. Calm, unhurried pacing — a slow café morning, a quiet courtyard — with an undercurrent of surreal, dreamlike romance rather than polish or spectacle.

Founded in 2014 by European entrepreneur Yves Naman, founder of Namron Hospitality, who according to trade press 'stumbled upon a captivating 1920s French-style townhouse and was instantly drawn to the charming space.' The building itself — a French-style townhouse in Roma Norte — anchors the hotel's design and name (La Valise, French for 'suitcase,' evoking travel and journeys). Expanded in 2023 from a smaller original footprint to today's eight suites and added leisure spaces. The hotel describes itself as blending Mexico City's 'surreal energy' with rare regional art, antiques, and craftsmanship. Roma Norte itself is a known creative, bohemian district of galleries and vintage boutiques, and press (SheerLuxe) describes the townhouse as having 'high ceilings, ornate mouldings and original floor tiles' on a quiet tree-lined street. Guests are within walking distance of noted local restaurants such as Rosetta and Maximo Bistrot. No architect or interior designer is credited in available material.
